How to use internet search engines effectively for searching any course related material

Search engines
Now-a-days, students have been using internet as primary mean of searching material related to their course study. Generally, they use search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. But sometime it becomes difficult for students to find material relevant to the topic they have been searching for.

Having this concern in mind, here I am going to share few tips from my experience that how you can use search engines effectively and find relevant material without spending lot of time and efforts.

Keywords are Important:

Keywords play vital role in searching anything. Without using right keywords you cannot hit the bull’s eye.

Use the keywords which are short and state the purpose directly. Avoid wordiness. For instance, if you want to find something like “how to do product branding”, instead of placing the whole phrase, use “product branding” or “how branding product”. Use variety of keywords by changing patterns and words, and you will get what you want in no time.

Searching PDF, DOC and alike:

You can find PDF, WORD and other documents formats directly.

Thus, if you are looking for PDF use “PDF:product branding” or “PDF product branding”. Similarly, if you look for word documents use “DOC:product branding” or “DOC product barnding”. Same pattern can be used for any other document formats.
