UK STUDENT VISA SYSTEM SIMPLIFIED: Steps for Visa Application

On Wednesday 17th June 2009, I happened to read in a Dawn Newspaper that UK Student Visa System has been simplified since April 2009. I read the full article and got useful insight of the process, terms and conditions.

Within the article, steps for UK student’s visa for Pakistan were provided as well. Therefore, I decided to post it here for your knowledge.


Step 1: Offer from a UK educational Institution.



Step 2: TB Screening Certificate – Book an appointment well in advance on telephone. For link to TB Test and numbers; http://www.ukvacpk.com/health.aspx


Step 3: Preparing for Visa Application – You will also need to complete visa form, VAF 9 and Appendix 8 for (General) students or Appendix 9 for (child) students.

  • Attach original offer letter (CAS) from UK educational institution.
  • Bank Statement.
  • One passport size (45mm x 35mm) photograph with white background.
  • Original National Identity Card (personal), photocopy as well.
  • For child students a translated Form B with original and a photocopy.
  • Original passport with more than six months validity (photocopies of first two pages as well).
  • Original academic documents and transcripts required by the UK institution for admission. Along with 2 sets of photocopies. You should be aware that all educational certificates will be sent for verification to the higher education commission.

Step 4: Submission of Visa Application Form
  • Visa Application Submission: Monday – Friday: 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs. For link to Visa Application Centre; http://www.ukvacpk.com/
